2021 has been a year of milestones for Boardroom Insiders, and we’re closing out Q4 with another BIG one: The Boardroom Insiders platform is now home to more than 30,000 profiles.
Why is this cause for celebration? Because we remember how it all started.
Let’s turn the clocks back to 2008. Boardroom Insiders co-founder and CEO, Sharon Gillenwater, then a marketing consultant, was set to attend a high-stakes golf tournament, and her clients requested full briefs of the C-level executives in attendance. These clients needed to know every possible detail they could learn about those executives— their company’s business priorities, current issues their industry was tackling, even personal details about the executives themselves.
After spending weeks pouring over hours of earnings call transcripts, articles, interviews and everything the Internet had to offer, Sharon compiled numerous in-depth briefs on each executive in attendance. The feedback from her clients was overwhelmingly positive. The profiles offered clients invaluable insight that was guaranteed to set them apart from the competition.
That's when it really clicked. Sharon recognized the value her clients got from this kind of insight, and Boardroom Insiders was born.
Fast-forward to present day, and our team has grown exponentially. We've added 12 full-time editors. We've just crossed the 30,000 profile threshold, and we aren't slowing down.
The first addition to the team was Melanie Strain, now our managing editor. We asked her about the changes she’s seen since she joined the team over 10 years ago. She answered immediately with one very important word.
"The quality. We keep raising the bar. In the beginning, our profiles were very simple,” she says. “Now, we have a team with the skills to keep digging deeper to deliver better, more informed profiles that are more valuable for our customers. Everyone has these great ideas, and as a result, the quality just keeps going up."
